As someone from Bihar, I've always felt a strong bond with the rich culture and traditions of my home. Chhath Puja, especially, has been a big part of my life since I was young. But lately, I've noticed that many young people aren't as interested in our traditional festivals anymore. That's why I've decided to do something about it. I want to make sure that Chhath Puja, and its significance, isn't forgotten by the next generation of Indians.

I mapped the origins, regions, and four-day journey of Chhath Puja—covering its roots, where it's celebrated, and key rituals. This helped create a clear, engaging narrative that makes the festival’s significance easier to understand and connect with.

After conducting both primary and secondary research, the findings revealed that many young Indians, especially outside states where it is primarily celebrated, have limited awareness of Chhath Puja. Even among those familiar with it, engagement with the festival is declining.
To address this, I chose a collage-style animation approach, blending traditional elements with a contemporary visual aesthetic that resonates with younger audiences.
